28th Annual European Film Festival
"From March 30 through April 6, 2012, come discover the European Film Festival."
Fresh off the success of the 27th Annual European Film Festival, this year's event will take place from March 30 through April 6 in Lille.
Last year, more than 1,600 short films were submitted and viewed by our committee, and only 62 were selected. In other words, it was a profusion of the best short films Europe has to offer.
It was like no selection we had seen before, mixing laughter and fear, tears and joy. We saw new directors as well as familiar faces, who delighted long-time short film fans and newcomers alike. Throughout the week, original works impressed and touched viewers through their screenplays and direction.
Rich with selections from the fiction, animated and documentary genres, there were short films to suit every taste. The Festival expanded to 14 countries, from Portugal to Russia, with more than 35 foreign films. Comedies and films with poignant messages both entertained and stimulated reflection. That is what was on offer during this incredible festival of the "seventh art."
At this 28th Annual Festival, you can expect even more emotions and quality in the competition. We are preparing a selection that we guarantee will wow all our viewers.
